Capsoli Eats: Pretty Cupcakes Perfect for Gifting

Ah, a bit less than two weeks and it’s Christmas again. This year has been a year filled with challenges, but at the end of the day, we Filipinos still manage to find ways to spread the holiday cheer. Despite not being able to shop for presents, there are a lot of ways to make sure our loved ones get the present they deserve. For instance, you may opt to give them pretty pastries, which they could look at and admire, and make their tummies full, too! One thing you can put on your list is a box of Capsoli Eats’ Cupcakes, which you can either get in assorted flavors, or in your favorite flavor only.

THE STORY

Capsoli Eats is made up of a three-woman team: Ms. Andrea, Ms. Nina, and Ms. Soledad Ferma. While other home-based baking shops are put up after a lot of planning, theirs is actually a business idea that sprang up by accident. There was a time when Ms. Andrea, who is in charge of baking, was attempting to film a youtube video on making minimalist cakes. She eventually found out that it wasn’t as easy as it seemed, so she went ahead and made a chocolate cake instead. This became a blessing in disguise, because the same chocolate recipe has become their cupcake recipe.

Insider Scoop: Curious about their store name? Capsoli Eats and their sister clothing company Capsoli are both an ode to the mom, Ms. Soledad a.k.a. Solly. She’s the captain of their ship, their captain Solly = Capsoli! Ms. Solly is really blessed to have such thoughtful daughters, right?

THE FOOD

Capsoli Eats’ Cupcakes come in three scrumptious flavors for its icing: Chocolate, Yema, and Caramel Fudge. But all cupcakes have the same delicious chocolate cupcake base. Their family is a big fan of chocolates, so they came up with decadent flavors that will complement the cupcake really well. A box of 4 costs Php 250, while a box of 6 costs Php 360.

THE VERDICT

CHOCOLATE FUDGE CUPCAKES

Ah. Chocolate lovers will surely enjoy this triple chocolate treat! Each cupcake oozes with chocolate filling, which will surely win the approval of kids and kids at heart. Those who have a sweet tooth will definitely love this. Personally, I found it a bit sweet for my liking, but the cupcake itself was moist and soft, and is quite filling, too.

YEMA FUDGE CUPCAKES

This one, on the other hand, is a very Pinoy flavor. The chocolate cupcake base’s taste is complemented well by the milky yema topping, and is really good, too. It isn’t as sweet as the pure chocolate one, and is pretty unique, too!

CARAMEL FUDGE CUPCAKES

I have never been a fan of caramel flavored food, because I always get a sore throat after I eat anything caramel. I proceeded with caution when I tried this, and was delighted when it wasn’t too sweet! It is a very classic flavor, but I loved Capsoli Eats’ version so much. In fact, if you would ask me, this is my favorite among the three flavors. The caramel topping paired so well with the moist chocolate cupcake, plus the decadent chocolate ganache filling. Recommended!

These cupcakes does not only taste good, they look really pretty, too! If you’re a Southie and you haven’t found the perfect gift for your friends and family yet, then this is a gem! Their cupcakes with rose-shaped icing can serve as an alternative to gifting loved ones with bouquets of flowers. Talk about hitting two birds with one stone!
