Mommmariz’ Kitchen: Comfort Food Prepared with Love

Moms are always the best when it comes to managing their time: juggling household duties, full time work, and probably some side hustles. Despite all these, they still get to prepare nutritious meals for their little ones. But this challenging time has proven that home-cooked meals really have a huge following. This is especially true for meals evidently prepared with lots of love. That’s what Mommmariz’ Kitchen is all about: Serving affordable comfort food in the form of home-cooked meals; which will make you feel at home and nostalgic about your own mother’s cooking.

THE STORY

Ms. Mariz is a full-time and license professional teacher with a passion for cooking. On her free time, she loves to prepare food for her family (and she’s pretty good at it!). While at it, she also blogs about her various creations. Despite being busy with her full time job, plus taking care of her family and being a mom to her two boys: Rafael and Marco, cooking has always made her happy. This is the reason why she decided to share her best-kept recipes with all of us through her recently launched Mommmariz’ Kitchen, which promises to serve no-frills comfort food straight to your doorsteps. If you’re curious about the name, this was coined by her eldest son who calls her “Mamawis”, short for mommy Mariz. (Cute, right?)

THE FOOD

Mommmariz’ Kitchen currently have three menu offerings: their Cheesy and Meaty Baked Macaroni, Pizza Stuffed Garlic Bread, and Chocolate Indulgence. Their menu gives you an appetizer, main course, and dessert already, so for a foodie tipid hack: you may opt to order everything here to save up on shipping fee! I promise, you won’t regret it. The prices are very affordable too, and you’ll get to enjoy bang-for-your-buck good food — I stake my reputation on this.

THE VERDICT

CHEESY AND MEATY BAKED MACARONI

I already wanted to take a bite while taking photos of the Cheesy and Meaty Baked Macaroni! It smelled so good and freshly made, and with the cheese baked to perfection, my eyes were glimmering just by looking at it. Can you believe that this double tray (good for 2 people) costs Php 170 only? Upon taking a bite of this cheesy goodness, a smile automatically painted my face as the baked mac tasted so heartwarming! You know that feeling when you eat something and it makes you feel all fuzzy and warm inside? That’s exactly how I felt while eating Ms. Mariz’ baked mac. You have to try it to know it.

Their Cheesy and Meaty Baked Macaroni is loaded with ground pork, hotdogs, and ham, so it will surely fit your Filipino food loving palate. What sets them apart from all the baked mac is this: they added a certain texture to it by having carrots as one of the ingredients, which also balances the taste and minimizes the umay factor. I also love how the sauce absorbs well into the macaroni pasta, so it’s really flavorful through and through. The star of the show, however, is their top-secret cheese sauce, which gives a creamy and savoury twist to the Pinoy style macaroni. Kids and adults alike would definitely love this sweet-tangy-savory concoction like no other. Definitely one of the best baked mac I’ve had in years!

CHOCOLATE INDULGENCE

On the other hand, Ms. Mariz also has magical hands when it comes to preparing desserts, as she has perfected her Chocolate Indulgence recipe that will make you want to skip to dessert time immediately. Starting only at Php 250 for an 8×4 pan, indulge in a super moist chocolate cake topped with gooey chocolate ganache that will surely make chocolate lovers giddy with happiness.

I am honestly not a big fan of chocolate cakes because I always end up with sore throat after eating some. BUT, Mommmariz’ Kitchen made me change my mind! Can you believe I was eating the Chocolate Indulgence Cake on the eve of my birthday, as in at 11PM? (Shhh, don’t judge!) The Chocolate Indulgence is perfectly moist, and the topping was rich but was not that sweet! The slightly bittersweet ganache balances the taste well, and I heard this sumptuous cake is best paired with coffee on a rainy day. Take note that it’s also best served when chilled, and ensure not to keep it for more than 3 days in the fridge so it wouldn’t dry out. Though, I’m sure you’ll finish it in a day – it’s that good!

It is evident that Mommy Mariz cooked the dishes with a lot of love and care, as each bite feels like a warm hug from mom. Highly recommended!

THE PRICES AND SIZES

Good food need not be expensive as you can get their Cheesy and Meaty Baked Macaroni for as low as Php 60 for their snack size. For 1 to two people, you may get their solo or double size at Php 100 and Php 170 respectively. On the other hand, holding parties need not be expensive as you can get their Family Size for 4 to 6 people at only Php 350, or their Party Size for 8 to 10 people at Php 700 only!

I’m sure their Pizza-Stuffed Garlic Bread would go well with their baked mac, and it only costs Php 50 a piece as an add-on. You may also order their 4-pc set for only Php 185. Yum!

On the other hand, their Chocolate Indulgence costs Php 250 for their Junior Sized Tray (8×4 pan) for 3-5 people, or you may have the ultimate indulgence with their Feast Tray (8×8 pan) for only Php 450.
