Raphael’s Davao Pomelos: The Sweetest and Juiciest Pomelos I’ve Ever Had
This pandemic has definitely encouraged us to eat more fruits than we’d usually have. Aside from the health benefits they give, the accessibility of the fruits we once craved for has made us consume more. For instance, plenty of online sellers have actually started to ship their products from the provinces. They either get them from their own farm or sourced through local farmers. This rings true for Raphael’s Davao Pomelos, a small scale online business that started last 2019 but had bloomed into its full potential just this August, 5 months into the COVID pandemic.
THE STORY
Raphael’s Davao Pomelos was named after its owner’s son. Mr. Ralph Morales got the idea of bringing the sweet pomelos from Davao to Luzon because of their family and friends’ positive feedback whenever he brought them pomelos as pasalubong from Davao. Raphael’s Davao Pomelos relaunched this August with its bigger team, catering to the heightened demand for fruits around the Metro.
They seek to give Filipinos an affordable way to access fresh and excellent quality pomelos all year long. Aside from this, their team also envisions to be agents of development in this industry. With each transaction, they see to it that no one gets left behind. They partner with farmers, distributors, and resellers, and seek to give opportunities to more and more Filipinos across the country.
THE FOOD
Raphael’s Davao Pomelos sell their pomelos at Php 189 per kg, fairly reasonable considering these are sourced directly from Davao. Their pomelos come in different sizes, but all of them are consistently juicy and sweet! They also recently launched their peeled pomelos at Php 99 per 500-gram pack, perfect for those on the go (or those who are too lazy to peel).
THE VERDICT
I first purchased 3 kilograms of their pomelos. My mom and I finished everything in 4 days, it was that good! What sets Raphael’s Davao Pomelos is their consistency. Each pomelo was as juicy as the other pomelos delivered, and are all very sweet too. While most of the pomelos I’ve had before had a slight bitter aftertaste, these pomelos from RDP are definitely naturally very sweet.
Getting Raphael’s Davao Pomelos is definitely a good choice: aside from getting your dose of Vitamin C, you get to help out our local farmers, too! They put in a lot of effort to ensure we get only the freshest and best quality pomelos there is.
According to their team, they have customers clamoring for mangosteen, durian, marang, etc., so let’s all watch out for that. I was told that their ultimate goal is to introduce and make indigenous delicacies and products from all of Mindanao available to every Filipino.
Let’s support them, and #SupportLocal!
