Cookies & Others: No Fuss Cookies That You Can Pair with Anything

Who doesn’t love cookies? Definitely not me! if anything, this quarantine has led me to discover a lot of homemade cookies that taste really good. Looking for unique flavors? Name it, and these online entrepreneurs surely have it. That’s where my occasional sweet tooth led me, to Cookies & Others. While I’m a fan of the classics, sometimes, I wish there were flavors like my all-time favorite matcha (that isn’t too expensive). I was pleasantly surprised when Cookies & Others sell matcha flavored cookies, plus two other equally good flavors.

THE STORY

Ms. Grace had a knack for baking since more than a decade ago, when her two sons were still little. She admitted that she did not know how to cook, but baking was different. As she’s fascinated with chemical reactions, she later realized that baking is somewhat related to chemistry, which could probably have been the reason why she loved it.

As Ms. Grace’s family are certified sweet tooths, she once tried out preparing some baked goodies for her children, and their sweet smiles said it all! Likewise, she decided to share some of her creations with her friends, and she was thrilled to get their seal of approval, too. The encouragement of family and friends led her to start her own baking business last 2019, thus, Cookies & Others was born. When asked what the “& others” stand for, Ms. Grace told me she believes that these are so versatile, you can surely pair it with anything: tea, coffee, among others.

THE FOOD

Currently, Cookies & Others’ introductory flavors consist of the following: Signature Chewy, Dark Cookie, and Matcha. These palm sized cookies are priced at Php 200 per half dozen order. For now, they do not allow assorted orders, but I hope they will offer it soon so you can get all the goodness in one box!

THE VERDICT

DARK COOKIE

This is made up of PURELY chocolate dough, milk chocolate chunks, plus white chocolate toppings. Chocolate lovers would definitely fall head over heels with this cookie! To me, it’s actually a hybrid between a cookie and a brownie. The taste is exactly how a yummy brownie would taste like. They also definitely put in a LOT of chocolates in this. I’d personally prefer a bit of bitterness in it to balance out the sweetness, but if you are a certified chocolate lover, this one’s something you’d love.

MATCHA

Matcha lovers can rejoice, because for just Php 200, you will get to enjoy half a dozen of these earthy, chewy, truly satisfying green tea cookies. In all fairness, the matcha taste was not too faint, and the earthiness is just right. I paired this with a cup of warm milk and it was so good. The white chocolate chunks added some sweetness to it. Definitely something worth ordering fro all the matcha lovers!

SIGNATURE CHEWY

You might think that the classics are passé, but Cookies & Others’ siganture chewy (chocolate chip cookie) will definitely change your mind. Their take on the classic choco chip cookie, plus a lot of chocolate chunk toppings will surely make you drool at first sight. The crisp exterior is a nice contrast to the chewy center: it’s the dream of all cookie lovers! Among the three, this one’s my favorite. I’d definitely get this again soon.
